Crime Alert & Prevention Advice – Motorcycle and Moped Theft

Since the 17/04/26 six incidents of motorcycle / moped theft have been reported in the Waterlooville south area all of which being committed overnight under the cover of darkness. Four of the motorcycles have since been recovered but we’re aware thefts continue in other areas. 

From reviewing CCTV and ANPR footage, coupled with eye witness reports, suspects have been seen riding pillion on SURRON E-bikes to locations whereby both are subsequently then seen leaving in tandem.

Motorcycles and mopeds are attractive to criminals because they can be stolen quickly and are often used in further criminal activity.

While theft cannot be completely prevented, layered security significantly reduces the risk. Offenders will usually target the easiest option.
